Turning Over A New Leaf
10/29/16
Autumn often symbolizes maturity and "turning over a new leaf" (get it??), and with this post marking the one year anniversary of Vividly Yours I could not imagine a more perfect backdrop. A lot has changed in me over the past year (for the better!), so returning to the spot of my first post is nostalgic and a reminder that not everything has to change. Let's celebrate VY's first birthday with some fall looks!

Who else loves chilly weather and bundling up? I paired my favorite beanie with an attempt at the denim on denim trend. An easy way to try this out is to pair blue denim with black, as I did with the jacket and jeans. This jacket is super affordable and a staple in my wardrobe.

Booties are always my go to shoe for fall.

I have had this orange leather jacket for so many years and I always pull it out for the season- such a perfect color! To let the jacket stand out, I paired it with a basic charcoal swing dress and booties.

Laughing at my pumpkin craziness.

Ponytails and big scarves are pretty much my uniform in the colder months. This blanket scarf is SO cozy.

Dressed the outfit down with a grey marled sweater, a pair of black jeans, and my much loved white converse.

Thank you all so much for supporting my passions and for sticking with my blog through a crazy year. Can't wait to see what's further down the road for me.

 Lilly Lovin'
3/13/16

When in Florida...Wear Lilly!

These Georgia May Palazzo Pants, in Reef Retreat are the most comfortable pants ever! Flowy, printed pants are really trendy right now, so I thought I'd give them a try. I paired them with a royal blue Dusk top (also from Lilly Pulitzer), and wore some simple Steve Madden sandals, plus took some shots on my Polaroid camera :)

4 Ways to Rock Your Holiday Party
12/13/15

With Christmas right around the corner, holiday parties will be popping up on the calendar. What will you be wearing? Christmas is my favorite holiday, and finding outfits to express the festive time of year is always so fun! So if you are stuck in a holiday outfit rut, here are 4 options perfect for any party.

Outfit #1
For those family holiday gatherings, I chose a preppier look complete with a festive fair isle sweater. This Christmas classic is always a great choice and gives off an instant holiday vibe. To add an extra element, I layered a denim shirt underneath and paired it with J.Crew pixie pants. I wore this look with my Tory Burch flats, but if you wanted to dress it up heels would look great too!

Playing the piano is a great way to get into the festive mood! What's your favorite Christmas song?

Outfit #2
For a dinner party, I chose this more understated Christmas look. I paired a basic black turtleneck with this red corduroy skirt with buttons down the front. The red color is perfect for this time of year! I finished the look with my favorite Sam Edelman booties.

I actually wore this outfit on Thanksgiving, so it can be worn for more than just Christmas!

Outfit #3

For a fancier look, I went with this moss green suede dress. To make it more cozy, I paired it with a faux fur vest, which is SO soft! Both of these pieces are from Forever 21, so they're super affordable but still look super cute.

If it is a bit colder, you could always pair this look with sheer black tights.

Knock, Knock!

Outfit #4
YAY! This last look is perfect for those "Ugly Christmas Sweater Parties" or just a fun movie night in with your best friends. Personally, I think all Christmas sweaters are beautiful, not ugly, and they're a great way to show off your love for the holiday!

No your eyes are not fooling you, this sweater LIGHTS UP! No way, right? I received this sweater in a dark green, and I loved it so much I bought the grey one also! (Still not sure how to wash it yet...haha)

To make it even more festive, I wore these Santa-inspired knee socks with faux fur trim. HOW CUTE? Also I used a Christmas pom pom hair accessory in my half-up-half-down style.

This is my personal favorite look, because I'm crazy for Christmas. Just 12 more days!!!

Which Look Will You Be Wearing?

Taylor

New York State of Style
11/11/15

New York is my favorite city, and when I visited it was the most beautiful weather. Crisp, yet warm, and so fall like. Here's a look at some of my style in the city! For this first look I wore a plaid popover that screamed fall to me and paired it with a beige vest to keep warm. By the way how perfect is this view?

These booties from Sam Edelman have been staples in my wardrobe this fall. They're not as difficult to get on and off like traditional riding boots, but still give the same look, while letting you show off more leg. To keep this outfit casual I wore my black pixie pants from J.Crew, which are a fabulous ponte pant. More structured than a legging, but still super comfy.

Vests were my go to on this trip, perfect for this 50 degree weather, where it's not too cold. This striped one is from Gap, but you can find similar styles all over. I paired it with a grey knit wrap sweater, jeans, Tory Burch flats, a crossbody bag and a couple dainty accessories.

Keeping with the stripe theme, the first day in the city I wore a basic black and white striped tee with an asymmetric hemline. It transitioned perfectly from the plane to the subway! Also, this day was extremely warm for NYC, with temperatures in the 70s (In November!!).

Out of the Woods
10/28/15

Fall is such a beautiful season. The crisp leaves and cool air inspire me to appreciate the days before it becomes frigid. Nature has always put me at ease, and with living in a forest I decided to use the foliage as a backdrop for this fall look. Can you believe this picture is not edited at all? Seriously how magnificent is fall?

Jeans are my absolute favorite wardrobe staple; they are so casual and laid back, yet can still look polished if paired with heels or other dress shoes. These ones I'm wearing here are by Lucky Brand and are the most comfortable pair I own. When looking for jeans look for a jean/legging hybrid because they will be much softer and easier to wear.

Inspired by the leaf-covered forest floor, I chose this rust colored tee from Urban Outfitters (SO SOFT!!) and paired it with a blush-tan utility jacket I picked up at Primark in London this past summer.

Keep being breathtaking fall.

Vividly Yours,

Taylor
